In the Tohno O'odham Indian Reservation along the US Mexican border, abandon vehicles dot the desert. Most are drug smuggler vehicles left by the drivers in the night when the vehicles broke down. Over a thousand vehicles and thousands of smuggler trails run through the deserts reroute from Mexico to any major highway in the US.

In the Tohno O'odham Indian Reservation along the US Mexican border, abandon vehicles dot the desert. Most are drug smuggler vehicles left by the drivers in the night when the vehicles broke down. Over a thousand vehicles and thousands of smuggler trails run through the deserts reroute from Mexico to any major highway in the US.
Although new roads, fence and vehicle barrier have been put in place along the US/Mexcian border - Arizona illegal traffic is still very heavy in the Tucson sector.
